MAVEN FITNESS ORIGIN STORY
Maven Fitness began as a vision held by founder Kayla Poitras—a space where movement could be taught in a way that honoured the whole human experience. From the beginning, Kayla imagined a studio where people could reconnect with themselves, reclaim their strength, and move with intention.
The name Maven was chosen deliberately. A maven is a guide, an expert, a source of knowledge. For Kayla, it represents the intersection of education and empowerment: the desire to teach with integrity, lead with wisdom, and help people understand their bodies in ways that feel accessible and transformative. Maven was never built around perfection—it was built around possibility.
At Maven Fitness, the body is seen as an interconnected system—mind, body, and spirit. Kayla’s approach centres on the belief that true strength is not just physical; it’s emotional, mental, and energetic. When these layers align, people step into new versions of themselves.
From day one, Kayla set out to remove barriers such as fear or uncertainty and replace them with knowledge, compassion, and support. She envisioned a space where people feel capable, encouraged, and empowered as they take ownership of their health and their movement.
Maven Fitness has grown into a larger studio and community, yet its foundation remains the same. This is not just a Pilates studio—it is a place where people are met as whole humans, and where movement becomes a catalyst for meaningful, lasting change.

I absolutely LOVE Maven Fitness. Kayla is incredibly knowledgeable and an enormous amount of fun to work with.
