The Team Supporting Your Practice

At Maven Studio, your instructors are more than teachers — they’re dedicated partners in your ongoing growth. Each member of our team brings a blend of technical skill, body awareness, and grounded presence to every session. We value mindful progression, individualized support, and creating an environment where you feel seen, guided, and encouraged.

Our approach is simple: meet you where you are, support your goals, and help you build strength, balance, and resilience that carry into every part of your life.

Meet Your Instructors

  • Owner & Lead Instructor

I opened Maven five years ago after spending a decade in injury rehabilitation, bringing my Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology together with advanced STOTT Pilates training. My background in sports medicine shaped my preventative, education-focused approach to movement—helping people understand their bodies, build confidence, and move with intention before pain or dysfunction takes over.

What began as a small rehabilitation-focused studio has grown into private, semi-private, and small-group reformer training, now supported by two incredible instructors. My mission is simple: to empower every client to feel stronger, more capable, and more at home in their body.

Outside the studio, I’m a mom of two, an animal lover, and someone who finds my reset in nature—whether running, hiking, or enjoying quiet moments outdoors. I value presence, simplicity, and time shared with family, friends, and a good cup of coffee.

  • Pilates Instructor

I started Pilates years ago to help manage my scoliosis. In my late 30s, I took things further and trained professionally with STOTT Pilates, whose contemporary approach bridges classical Pilates with the latest in movement science. I became fully certified in Mat and Reformer in 2014, and I’ve been studying, teaching, and refining ever since.

My teaching philosophy is simple: we train today for the body we want to have at 80 — not just the body we have right now. Every movement matters, and every body deserves to feel strong, aligned, and supported.

My classes are functional, intentional, and encouraging — designed to help you reconnect with your body’s intelligence and potential, no matter your age or fitness level. My ultimate goal? To be the oldest living Pilates instructor (or at least the most joyful one in the room).

Pilates isn’t just exercise — it’s a lifelong conversation with your body.

  • Pilates Instructor

I’m an encouraging and upbeat instructor who loves helping people move their bodies for better health, strength, and confidence. I completed my training through Club Pilates in Waterloo, where I discovered how transformative core activation can be—not only for posture and strength but also in easing my ongoing back pain.

My classes are supportive, fun, and tailored to each person’s needs, guiding clients to feel capable, connected to their movement, and empowered in everyday life.

When I’m not teaching, I enjoy hiking with my German Shepherd, sipping iced coffee, and spending time by the water bird watching. I’ve also recently added learning to play pickleball to my growing list of active hobbies.

Client Testimonials

  • Kayla has truly been a lifesaver during my pregnancy! She helped me adapt my Pilates routine to accommodate both my changing body and a wrist injury, always with care, knowledge, and patience. I wanted to focus on strength, balance, and flexibility—and that’s exactly what Kayla supported me with. Her deep understanding of prenatal needs, combined with her encouraging energy made every session something I looked forward to. She always made me feel safe, capable, and empowered in my body. I couldn’t be happier with how I felt throughout my pregnancy, and I know my Pilates sessions played a huge role in that. Thanks to Kayla, I stayed active, strong, and mentally centered. I can’t wait to return once I’m postpartum—there’s no one else I’d rather have guiding me through recovery and beyond!

  • Kayla is absolutely fantastic. With such a wealth of knowledge she has been able to pinpoint what exactly is not firing or functioning properly and give specific exercises to help correct & strengthen. I have seen drastic changes in my body and am living pain free in a short amount of time. She sends me detailed at home routines and exercises that I can complete with limited equipment necessary. She helps me to stay motivated and working towards my goals. I will remain a client forever as she is able to continuously challenge and inspire me to keep going. Thank you for all that you do.
